degrees warmer here than it was on the other side of the wall behind you.
Additionally, you can hear screams of agony in all directions, as well as
vile, inhuman laughter.  You note that the walls and floor here are rough;
these are obviously natural caverns.  It also is perfectly dark here; but
for infravision or light sources, you would be unable to see anything at
all.
