Deep in the Meadowlands

The Old Southern Road seems to carry on forever through these empty
fields of grass and flowers.  Small twisted oaks dot the landscape
occasionally, and sometimes you even see in the distance copses of great
Pinestrian Maples whose trunks are often thicker than houses.  The roadside
is lined with multitudes of berry-bearing bushes and vines.  The forest is
no farther than a league off to the south, appearing as a dark sea on the
borders of the bright green meadows.  
     A worn sling is lying on the ground.
