Outside the South Gate of Midgaard

You find yourself just outside the South Gate of Midgaard at the northern
beginnings of the Old Southern Road.  The ancient iron portucullis of the
gate lies rusting away at the roadside amongst a patch of tall Bloodweed. 
The road here is lined with young trees and thick grass and weeds.  The road
winds out of view into the sparsely wooded meadows to the south.  North lies
the bustling city of Midgaard in all its glory.  
     A patch of Bloodweed grows at the roadside.
