Before the Dark Woods

You stand at the base of the great barren hill near the edge of an
ominously dark forest.  The trees are gnarled and ancient, encrusted with
ages of lichen-growth and hoary masses of somber grey moss.  A ghostly mist
hangs in the still air, obscuring much of what lies beyond.  The remains of
an old road disappear into into the forest to the south...  This dreary path
must surely lead into the dreaded Swamp of Jethusala.  
     A rock lies here in the dust, perfect for kicking.
Jaden-Jaded by the Inner Light is here, ready to take on an army.
A mosquito now follows you.
